ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Our Mission Statement
Grace Christian School educates children to become faithful, literate and productive Christian citizens who will serve God and others with love.

At Grace Christian School, we are proud of the learning environment offered to our students. The foundation of our school is a Christian education, taught by deeply committed Christian teachers. We recognize the importance of providing a secure environment. We emphasize strong moral values, individual responsibility, a hands-off policy and personal discipline.

Curriculum
Grace Christian School acknowledges the importance of the curriculum to cover a breadth of knowledge in the core subjects of math, reading & literature, science, history, geography and English. Our students consistently score at or above grade level on the SAT-10. We also have a well-equipped computer lab that all students; kindergarten through sixth grade; utilize. The computers are used for class projects, learning tools and supervised internet access.

Additional Learning Activities
Grace Christian School students participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Included are physical education classes for all grades. Every year there is a competitive track meet for all students to test their skills with other Lutheran schools. Field trips are an important part of our curriculum. Our students may travel to museums, The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Gold Rush country, The Fresno Zoo and other local sites.

Music
A strong foundation in music and the performing arts will teach each student the joy of accomplishment through disciplined practice, bringing beauty and meaning into life. Currently, we offer piano lessons during the school day for a nominal fee. Every year Grace Christian students perform in a dramatic musical for their parents and the community. Our children also participate in an annual oral interpretation festival.

Spiritual Growth
Grace Christian School is an affiliate of Grace Lutheran Church (LCMS). A Christian-based religious education is taught to all students regardless of their home church. The children attend a weekly chapel service and are paired with a chapel buddy to help each other learn the lesson of the day and etiquette of attending church. Pastors, the principal, the youth minister, or the students themselves lead chapels. Learning of God’s love in Christ and His importance in our lives is the Christian goal of Grace Christian School.

Child Care
Grace Christian realizes many of our families work outside the home. We offer free before-school care, and after-school care for a nominal fee.

Our Families
Grace Christian School expects a strong partnership with parents. Together we understand and embrace individual expectations for each student. The result is an education that is developmentally appropriate, yet recognizes that all children learn at different rates and via different methods.

Class Size
Grace Christian has limited class sizes throughout all grades. Our small classes provide students and teachers with additional “one-on-one” time. Teachers can focus more on educational issues and less on behavior management problems often found in larger classrooms.

For more information, an appointment with our principal, or to arrange a tour of our school, please call (559) 734-7694 or email our Principal, Sandy Eitel.
Grace Christian School accepts all children without regard to race, color, church ministry, national origin or ancestry.
